PWI – Ready for the PW International Championship?

We've got some extremely exciting news for you all tonight - our version of Perfect World will be competing in the first-ever Perfect World International Championship (PWIC)!
What does this mean? It means that 6 (7 if you count the alternate) players from our North American Servers will be invited to compete in a worldwide PVP tournament that will be taking place on August 21st and 22nd! Not only that, but two players from our team will actually be making the trip to Beijing, China to lead their teammates to victory - and the whole trip will be on PWE's dime!
These two heroes will then leave the land of Perfect World (aka China) on August 23rd to return to their adoring homeland.

The First Tournament - On Our North American Servers
Basic Structure
So how exactly do we select only 7 players from the tens of thousands who play PWI? It's no easy task, and no method is flawless, but here is how it's going to go:
o Only players who are currently in territory-owning factions can participate. As the PWIC is a hardcore PVP tournament, our most similar player-group is easily those who fight for territories each week.
o There are currently 64 Factions across all 7 servers that fit this description.
o The Leader of each of these factions must email us with their team roster by Sunday July 17th at 11:59pm.
o We will have a tournament on each server next week to determine server champions.
o The final champion will be decided through a timed boss-fight.
o The PWI Champion will then participate in the PWIC on August 21st and 22nd!
Who is Eligible?
There will be 64 teams. Each team will represent one faction that currently holds a territory on a server (as of 7-11-2011).

Each leader of a territory-holding faction must email us his team by Sunday July 17th at 11:59pm PDT.
o Each team is comprised of 7 characters (6 regulars and 1 alternate) The alternate will only participate if one of the regulars cannot make it.
o Team-selection email must be sent by Sunday July 17th at 11:59pm PDT
o Team-selection email must be sent from the PWE-registered e-mail of the faction leader.
o This email must have the Subject line "<Faction name> - <Server Name> PWIC Roster"
o Be sure to clearly note which member of the team is the Alternate. Remember, he will not be competing unless one of the other members of the team cannot attend.
Requirements for being on a team:
o All 7 characters must be level 100 or greater by Sunday July 17th at 11:59pm PDT.
o Each team can have at most 1 of the following classes: Blademaster, Barbarian, Assassin, and Psychic
o Each team can have at most 2 of the following classes: Wizard, Venomancer, Archer, Cleric, Seeker, and Mystic
o The “alternate” character has to follow the rules above as well, so for example, if your team has one assassin already (in the first 6 members), the alternate cannot also be an assassin. If your team has one Wizard in the first 6 members, then the alternate can be a Wizard as well.
Human Being requirements for being on a team:
o 2 members of the winning team (across all PWI servers) will be sent to China to be on-site for the tournament. The other 5 players will remain wherever they are to participate from their computers.
o These two players needs to have valid passports and be willing to take an all-expense paid trip to China on August 19th to participate in the tournament which will take place on August 21st and 22nd.
o These two members must also be at least 18 years of age.
o These two players will leave China and return home on August 23rd.
The tournament over here:
o The USA server tournaments will take place on Tuesday July 19th and Wednesday July 20th.

o Teams will be teleported into the special arena with instructions not to start fighting until told to do so. Any teams that start early will be disqualified.
o The match is a free-for-all between teams. All will fight simultaneously.
o Upon death or log out, characters will not be able to get back into the PVP area.
o Last man standing wins for his team.
o Once a server winner is determined, that team will then face a powerful PWI Boss. This fight will be timed.
o The team with the fastest boss-killing time out of the sevent winners will advance to the PWIC Tournament!
Prizes:
o The winning team will get the opportunity to face the toughest PW teams around the world!
o Along with this opportunity, each member will also receive a custom-made, limited edition PWIC souvenir weapon (stats not meant for actual battle) as well as a rare Crimson Fox.
o If the team wins in China, they will receive other great, as-yet-undisclosed prizes!
